This adventure begins with a walk through the El Pahuma Reserve, home to hummingbirds, orchids and butterflies, followed by an exploration of Mindo and its natural beauties. Next, you will visit the Otavalo Handicraft Market and its craft workshops, followed by a visit to the Papallacta hot springs. The journey continues south, passing through pastoral lands and haciendas, and finally arriving at the National Park and the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano. The trip includes accommodation, meals and various enriching activities.

TRAVEL ITINERARY
Day 1: Mindo Cloud Forest
Start the day travelling through the Western Andes. One of the selected places for lovers of hummingbirds, orchids and butterflies. This is a trip that starts with a hike around the El Pahuma Reserve to get to know the richness of the Chocó region. Afterwards, continue the trip to Mindo to explore the town and its natural beauties. Lunch, dinner and overnight in Mindo.
Day 2: Otavalo market
Breakfast and departure to the northern region of the Equatorial Andes. Arrival in the town of Otavalo, known for its Handicraft Market, one of the favourite places to find all kinds of souvenirs for its visitors. Walking through its quiet aisles, visitors will find weavings, paintings, textiles, clothing and much more. In the afternoon you will visit the workshops where all the handicrafts are produced. A day full of scenery accompanied by mountains, lakes, music and culture. Lunch, dinner and accommodation in a local Hacienda.
Day 3: Papallacta Hot Springs
Breakfast and departure to the east of the Equatorial Andes, during the journey and if the weather is good, we will observe the different volcanoes of the region until we reach the hot springs in Papallacta. During the trip we will observe a forest of “Polylepys trees” until we reach the highest point of the crossing of the mountain range located at 4200 meters at sea level and descend to 3000 meters where Papallacta is located. After a short hike you can enjoy the natural waters of Papallacta. Here you can book massage therapies. Lunch, dinner and accommodation at Termas de Papallacta.
Day 4: Sierra Centro Sur Cotopaxi
Breakfast and departure to the south. During the trip along the Panamerican Highway it is possible to encounter an impressive landscape of pastures, farms producing roses for export, farms producing milk and dairy products until reaching the region of the National Park. Lunch, dinner and accommodation in a local hacienda.
Day 5: Cotopaxi National Park
Breakfast and departure to a market in the region and arrival at the National Park. The active volcano Cotopaxi is known as the “Perfect Cone Volcano”. Walking through the Limpiopungo Lagoon you will observe the life in its natural state and its valuable paramal ecosystem that make up this beautiful place. Lunch and return to Quito.

It is advisable to bring comfortable, light clothing, a waterproof jacket, swimming costume and comfortable walking shoes for the Amazon or Galapagos visit points, and warmer clothing for the days in and around Quito. Visitors should not wear tank tops, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting religious or official buildings. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a small backpack, a hat and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay in Ecuador.
